Last kiss

One day..we will meet again...it is a small world my dear.

The wind was filling up the sails like you filled up me, with all your love,
Lines were the repetitive snapping beat of the ship's heart as against the mast they beat
So like my heart on that day, that day when the world ended with our last kiss.

I can still taste the sweetest nectar of your lips as they met mine, enveloping me
Developing in me all that I had ever been and had hoped ever would be
On the day that the sun went away and the ocean stopped ebbing, the day of our last kiss.

I can see the dark depth of your gaze as into my eyes they looked, I will never forget it
As the sun was reflecting off the water in such perfection that it was illuminating
Them into a color I would always remember, knew I would always surrender to on the day
of our last kiss.

Oh that there with my lips on yours I could have stopped time, there forever to linger
Oh that the gods would have rolled the dice and found a different solution than that
Which they that day cast out as I felt your lips leave mine and the world turned cold
On that day of our last kiss.

I remember watching you walk away, walking out of my life, out of my heart,
Or so you thought, as into the distance you went, smaller and smaller you became
Till finally I could barely see you at all, it was then that I raised a finger to my lips
And my eyes closed as I ran it over them , tasting you, making you a permanent memory
on that day when for me love for eternity - ended in our last kiss.

Now in my dreams you come to me, a shadow of yourself, but there you do come
Come to me and take me in your arms once more, to embrace me, entrance me
With those dark eyes of such remembered perfection, and in those dreams I taste again
Not our last kiss, but our kisses over and over again, till dawn comes and I awaken to the harshness of -
